Founded in 1986 by Patrick Bernauer, our agency has always been family-built and community-focused. From the very beginning, we've operated as a small, dedicated office, and we remain that way today, offering the same personal touch our clients have relied on for decades.

Founder
Patrick founded Bernauer Insurance in 1986 and has spent nearly four decades protecting Minnesota families and businesses. He built the agency on the idea that people deserve an agent who knows them by name, not by policy number — and that principle still runs the place.

The towns below are simply where most of our clients happen to live — they aren't the limit of where we can work. Our license covers all 87 Minnesota counties, Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud and Moorhead included. Which companies we can shop for you varies a little by address, the way it does for any independent agency, but that's a carrier's footprint rather than ours. If your town isn't on the list, call and ask — the answer is almost always yes.
