Auto Insurance

Coverage for your vehicles, your drivers, and your liability on the road.

Auto insurance is the policy most people shop on price alone, which is exactly how they end up underinsured. We will show you what your current limits actually mean and what it costs to fix them — the difference is often smaller than people expect.

That means your own policy pays your medical bills after an accident regardless of who caused it, through Personal Injury Protection. Minnesota requires a minimum of $40,000 in PIP per person. It also means the liability limits you carry are about protecting your assets from the other party, not your own care.

  • Liability coverage (bodily injury and property damage)
  • Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
  • Uninsured and underinsured motorist
  • Collision and comprehensive
  • Roadside assistance and towing
  • Rental car reimbursement
  • Boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles and RVs
  • Umbrella / excess liability

State minimum liability is 30/60/10 — thirty thousand per person for injuries, sixty per accident, ten for property damage. Ten thousand does not replace a modern vehicle. If you have savings, a home, or future income worth protecting, minimum limits are a gamble rather than a plan. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is the other one worth a hard look.

Bundling with home is usually the largest. Beyond that: multi-vehicle, clean driving record, paid-in-full, and telematics programs if you are comfortable with them. Good student discounts are meaningful if you have a teenage driver, which is otherwise the single most expensive thing that can happen to an auto policy.

DRIVERS IN THE HOUSEHOLD

Carriers rate from the license, so they need a name, a date of birth, a gender and a license number for each person. Everyone in the household has to be listed — including anyone insured somewhere else.

As it appears on the license — carriers rate from this.

For any driver above. Being upfront here keeps the quote accurate — it shows up on the report either way.

VEHICLES

Start with the VIN and we will fill in the year, make and model for you. Annual mileage matters too — it is one of the bigger factors in the price.

Vehicle 1

17 characters. It’s on your insurance card, your registration, and the driver’s side dashboard where it meets the windshield. Type it and we’ll fill in the rest.

A rough figure is fine — it is one of the bigger factors in the price, so a low-mileage car is worth saying so about.

04

BOATS, TOYS AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

These usually cost far less added alongside your auto policy than bought separately, and a lot of people don't realize their auto policy does not cover them at all.

Year, make and model for each, plus where they're stored over winter. Storage matters more than people expect — it often lowers the rate.

05

CURRENT COVERAGE

An umbrella sits on top of your auto and home liability and picks up where they stop. If you have savings, a house, or future income worth protecting, it is usually the cheapest meaningful coverage you can buy.
